Ntsiki Mazwai (the Street Queen) is a poet, bead artist, and singer from South Africa. Ntsiki Mazwai creates music in the styles of traditional, hip-hop, reggae, house, and Afro-soul. Ntsiki is outspoken about the difficulties that residents in Mzansi’s slum areas face.
Ntsiki Mazwai grew up in Soweto, one of South Africa’s most impoverished ghettos. Ntsiki Mazwai adopts the stage moniker Street-Queen as a result of her extensive familiarity with street and ghetto life. Ntsiki Mazwai’s stage name is a play on her artistic work, which encourages street culture.
