Thandiswa Mazwai is a South African artist and Bongo Maffin’s principal vocalist and lyricist. She is sometimes referred to as King Tha. Thandiswa Mzwai is the mother of Malika, a daughter she had with former Bongo Maffin bandmate Stoan Seate.
Her sister is Nomsa Mazwai, and they enjoy a healthy sibling rivalry. Her sister is also known as Thandiswa Mazwai Belede, after her mother Belede, who died in 1992 at the age of 34. Thandiswa has a little niece, Qama Mekgoe, who is a singer. She is also the poet Ntsiki Mazwai’s sister, as well as an author, social activist, producer, and blogger.
