Early Mabuza was a South African musician (drummer, bandleader) of modern jazz.
Mabuza was a Dollar Brand star in the 1950s. The term “responsibility” refers to the act of determining whether or not a person is responsible for his or her own actions. He performed with his own quartet at the Castle Lager Jazz Festival in 1964. Early Mabuza then put together the Early Mabuza Big Five, which included Barney Rachabane, Ernest Mothle, and Julian Bahula. Winston Mankunku recorded his successful album Yakhal’Nkomo in 1968 with Mabuza’s trio.
