Full Biography
Refiloe Maele Phoolo was born on December 16, 1990, in Mafikeng, North West, to Muzuki and Letsebela Phoolo. Nyovest has a sister, Tsholofelo Phoolo, and a late brother, Khotso Phoolo, who died in 2003. He attended Sol Plaatjie Secondary School, where he was an athlete and participated in a variety of sports. Nyovest began rapping at the age of 12. He failed his Grade 10 exams in 2006, forcing him to move to his grandmother’s house in Potchefstroom. As a result, in 2007, he decided to drop out of high school at the age of 16.
