Full Biography
South African producer and songwriter Cassper Nyovest was born Refiloe Maele Phoolo in the Mafikeng town of Montshiwa in 1990. He spent his childhood participating in academics and sports, but around the age of twelve, he discovered his love for rapping. In primary school, where he would constantly compete to be in every play and show, Cassper Nyovest first discovered his affinity for performing in front of audiences. At the age of 16, Cassper Nyovest quit school to pursue a career in music. Cassper Nyovest floundered for a while before being discovered by Motswako rapper HHP.
He had an older brother named Khotso Phoolo and a younger sister named Tsholofelo Phoolo. Cassper and his sister were left to mourn Khotso’s loss after his unfortunate death in 2003.
