Busi Mhlongo was born in Inanda, Natal, South Africa on October 28, 1947. She was an actor and composer who was well-known for her roles in Long Street (2009) and Gensyn Med Johannesburg (1996). On June 15, 2010, she died in Durban, Natal, South Africa.
Mhlongo grew up in the highland village of Ohlange in a musically minded household. She later married musician Early Mabuza, with whom she had a daughter(Nompumelelo Elaine Mabuza-Black). Mhlongo’s banishment prevented her from raising her daughter or attending her husband’s funeral, the cause of which was murder.
