William Kentridge is a South African artist best known for his prints, paintings, and animated films, particularly a series of hand-drawn animated films he created in the 1990s. The latter is created by filming a drawing, erasing and changing it, and then shooting it again. William Kentridge repeats this process, giving each alteration to the drawing a quarter-second to two-second screen time.
