Full Biography
Refiloe Maele Phoolo was born on December 16, 1990, in Mafikeng, North West, to Muzuki and Letsebela Phoolo. Nyovest has a sister, Tsholofelo Phoolo, and a late brother, Khotso Phoolo, who died in 2003. He attended Sol Plaatjie Secondary School, where he was an athlete and participated in a variety of sports. Nyovest began rapping at the age of 12. He failed his Grade 10 examinations in 2006, forcing him to move to his grandmother’s house in Potchefstroom. As a result, in 2007, he opted to drop out of high school at the age of 16.
After informing his parents that he would rather chase his ambition, which he believed would work out, than play it safe and regretting it his entire life, Nyovest traveled to Johannesburg in 2008 to pursue a career in music as a rapper and producer.
