Full Biography
Zakhele Madida was born to Nomthandazo Madida and Jeffrey Khanyile. He was raised in the KwaZulu-Natal province’s kwaMashu F-section. Zakes attended Shayamoya Junior Primary School before moving on to Nqabakazulu High School. Zakes had his first child when he was 14 years old. Despite the difficulties of being a teen father, he completed his matriculation. After matriculating, he went on to study at Natal Technikon (now known as the Durban University of Technology), where he earned a national certificate in Light Music and founded his record label, Mayonie Productions while finishing his final year.
