Full Biography
Felicia Kentridge was born on 7 August 1930 and died on 7 June 2015. Felicia Kentridge was a South African barrister and anti-apartheid campaigner who co-founded the South African Legal Resources Centre (LRC) in 1979. The LRC represented black South Africans against the apartheid state and invalidated multiple discriminatory legislation; Kentridge was involved in some of the Centre’s notable legal actions.
Felicia Kentridge’s oldest son, William Kentridge, is a South African artist, public speaker, and filmmaker.

Felicia afterwards became a painter, primarily in watercolour. Felicia was finally diagnosed with progressive supranuclear palsy, which rendered her paralyzed. In June 2015, she died at her home in Maida Vale, London.
