Albert “Albie” Louis Sachs is a South African lawyer, activist, writer, and former judge appointed by Nelson Mandela to South Africa’s first Constitutional Court.
In 1966, Sachs married Stephanie Kemp, a member of the African Resistance Movement, the ANC, and the SACP. They divorced in 1980 and had two children, Alan and Michael. Before returning to South Africa, she worked as a physiotherapist in London for another ten years, specializing in the treatment of children with cerebral palsy.
