Jamnadasbhai Gordhan’s son, Pravin Jamnadas Gordhan is a South African politician and anti-apartheid campaigner who has held various cabinet positions in the South African Cabinet. Pravin Gordhan was the Minister of Finance from 2009 to 2014, and again from 2015 to 2017, as well as the Minister of Cooperative Governance and Traditional Affairs from 2014 to 2015, and the Minister of Public Enterprises since February 2018.
From 1999 to 2009, Gordhan was the Commissioner of the South African Revenue Service. He chaired the Convention for a Democratic South Africa from 1991 to 1994, and he was a member of the Transitional Executive Council, which prepared South Africa for its first non-racial election in April 1994.
