Nomazizi was the ex-wife of a prominent politician, and president of South Africa, Cyril Ramaphosa. The couple married in 1991 and shortly divorced in 1993. The reasons for their divorce remained unknown. Sadly Nomazizi passed away in February 2008, leaving behind one child. The actual cause of her death was not disclosed, but some online sources claim that Nomaziz passed away in a Johannesburg hospital after a long illness.

She was named Chairperson of Telkom’s Board in 2002, and she held that post until her death in October 2006.
