Nithaya Chetty is the University of the Witwatersrand’s dean of science. He studies solid-state and condensed matter physics theoretically and computationally. He attended the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign as a Fulbright Fellow, where he earned his Ph.D. in 1990.
