Full Biography
In the Eastern Cape town of Mvezo, Nelson Mandela was born on July 18, 1918, into the Madiba family. The Acting King of the Thembu people, Jongintaba Dalindyebo, was Nonqaphi Nosekeni’s father, and Nkosi Mphakanyiswa Gadla Mandela was his mother.
Nelson Mandela started his studies at the University College of Fort Hare for a Bachelor of Arts degree, but he was dismissed for taking part in a student demonstration and never finished his degree there.
Noqaphi Nosekeni, Nelson Mandela’s mother was very supportive of him. Unfortunately, there is little information about her.
