Mafikizolo is a South African Afro-pop music duo comprised of composer Theo Kgosinkwe and lead singer Nhlanhla Nciza that was formed in 1996. The duo rose to prominence following the release of their singles “Ndihamba Nawe kuphela,” “Kwela Kwela,” “Sibongile,” and “Udakwa Njalo.” Mafikizolo, the group’s self-titled debut album, was released in 1997, followed by Music Revolution in 1999.
The band’s third album, Gate Crashers, was released in 2000 and became their best-selling album.
Mafikizolo has won 14 South African Music Awards and 2 MTV Africa Music Awards including the awards for Best Duo or Group of the Year.
