Lekota Sydney is the younger brother of South African politician and former president, Kgalema Motlanthe. Although he is a sibling of a well-known public figure, Lekota has managed to stay out of the public eye, and hence there is very little to no information about him available online.
Lekota’s father, Louis Mathakoe Motlanthe, worked as a cleaner. He worked for St John’s College and later for Anglo-Americans. His mother, Masefako Sophia Madingoane, was a domestic worker.
It is believed that Lekota is the youngest of three siblings; Tlatlane Ernest, and their big brother, Kgalema, who was the former president of South Africa.
