Godfrey Khotso Mokoena is a South African athlete who specializes in the long jump and triple jump. In July 2009, he achieved a new African long jump record of 8.50m in Madrid in an IAAF Super Grand Prix competition, finishing second behind Fabrice Lapierre. The previous African record, 8.46, was established in 1997 by Cheikh Toure of Senegal. Mokoena returned to the triple jump during the 2014 Commonwealth Games and won gold.
