Cyril Ramaphosa was born to Venda’s parents on November 17, 1952, in Soweto, Johannesburg. Cyril Ramaphosa is the second of three children born to Erdmuth and retired police officer Samuel Ramaphosa. In Soweto, Cyril Ramaphosa went to Tshilidzi Primary School and Sekano Ntoane High School. In 1971, Cyril Ramaphosa enrolled at Mphaphuli High School in Sibasa, Venda, where he was elected president of the Student Christian Movement.
