Burt and Geraldine le Clos gave birth to Le Clos on April 12, 1992. He graduated from Durban’s Westville Boys’ High School in 2010. Le Clos began swimming at a young age with the assistance and care of his parents, who recognized his talent. He has grown from strength to strength since 2002 when he began competing at the juvenile age of ten. He earned five gold in the Summer Youth Olympics in Singapore in 2010, and he was named the Daily News SPAR Sports Person of the Year, which honors top high school athletes.
