Dr. Eddie Mhlanga is a member of the South African National Committee on Maternal Death Confidential Enquiry.
He also participates in the FIGO Task Team on the Prevention of Unsafe Abortion. FIGO is the International Federation of Gynecology and Obstetrics. Dr. Mhlanga played a significant role in the implementation of the Choice on Termination of Pregnancy Act (1996) while serving as director of Maternal, Child, and Women’s Health for the Department of Health.
