Winnefred Godsell is the father of Bobby Godsell. Bobby Godsell was born in Johannesburg on September 14, 1952. Bobby Godsell is a retired South African businessman who served as the CEO of the South African gold mining company AngloGold Ashanti from 1998 to 2007. From 2008 to 2009, Bobby Godsell was the Non-Executive Chairman of Eskom, and on April 30, 2010, Bobby Godsell was appointed to the National Planning Commission of South Africa by former South African President Jacob Zuma.

Godsell was accused of racism, but both the NUM (National Union of Mineworkers) and the ANC defended him (African National Congress).
