Allan Boesak is a South African anti-apartheid activist and minister of the Dutch Reformed Church. In late 2004, he was granted an official pardon and reinstated as a priest after being sentenced to prison for fraud in 1999.
Boesak, along with Beyers Naude and Winnie Mandela, received the 1985 Robert F. Kennedy Human Rights Award, which is given annually by the Robert F. Kennedy Center for Justice and Human Rights to an individual or group whose courageous activism is at the heart of the human rights movement and in the spirit of Robert F.
