Mosima Gabriel “Tokyo” Sexwale is a businessman, politician, anti-apartheid campaigner, and former political prisoner from South Africa. Sexwale, like Nelson Mandela, was imprisoned on Robben Island for his anti-apartheid actions. Sexwale was elected Premier of Gauteng Province following the 1994 general election, South Africa’s first truly democratic election. From 2009 to 2013, he served as South Africa’s Minister of Human Settlements.
