Mangosuthu Buthelezi’s Siblings: Meet Princess Morgina Dotwana

On 24th February 2014, prince Mangosuthu released a remark statement after his IFP Door-to-door Campaign In Tsakane and KwaThema. In the statement, he recalled how his sister had strengthened his connection with the people, In the statement, the prince said:

“I was not willing to leave without seeing you, though, for I know how important it is to see each other face-to-face to discuss the coming elections and consider what the IFP can offer to Tsakane, KwaThema, and Daveyton.

I have a connection to this area that goes back many years. My sister, Princess Morgina Dotwana, was married to a doctor in Daveyton, and they served the community under the harsh conditions of apartheid.

It was through my sister that Mr. Oliver Tambo and Inkosi Albert Luthuli sent a message to me, urging me to take up the leadership of the erstwhile KwaZulu Government if the people asked me to lead. They knew that, by doing so, I could undermine the apartheid system from within.”
